It’s the airline’s first next-generation 737 delivery, joining a fleet that has flown the 737-800 exclusively since Skymark’s relaunch. The 737-8 brings CFM LEAP-1B engines and the type’s distinctive split-scimitar winglets to the lineup — a visibly different silhouette from the -800s spotters have tracked around Haneda for years.
JA738A’s debut on the Haneda–Fukuoka route puts it within easy reach for spotters at both ends on May 28. As with any inaugural, expect airport ops and gate assignments to be confirmed closer to the day.
We’ll add JA738A to the Fleet Database and Browse Images as soon as it’s been caught on camera, so check back on its registration page once photos start coming in.
